Where is Whitley Bay Baptist Church?

Whitley Bay Baptist Church is located on the corner of Park Avenue and Park Parade in the centre of Whitley Bay. The 20th Century building has a large tower and is built of old red sandstone. You can find a map on our contacts page.

Who is the Senior Pastor?

Our Senior Pastor is Paul Newman. He is an ordained and accredited Minister of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and has degrees from London and Manchester Universities.

What sort of Church are you?

As the name implies Whitley Bay Baptist Church is a member church of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and as such is a church in the Northern Baptist Association. We are an inclusive family of believers sharing one common bond - Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We come from many denominational backgrounds and none.

What should I wear at Whitley Bay Baptist Church?

Most people wear casual and comfortable clothes on Sundays, others choose to be more formal – whatever you choose. Our welcome to you does not depend on what you are wearing!

When should I Arrive?

Owing to parking its best to plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of a service.

Where do I Park?

The church has no car park so parking close by is all on-street and because of the residential nature of the area this is limited. On Sundays (all day) and Evenings (after 6pm) on-street parking is free. Weekdays and Saturdays (8am – 6pm) the immediate streets are either yellow-lined or “Pay and Display”. There are public car parks by the Library and the Playhouse Theatre.

Quality preschool and children's Bible teaching programs are available in a safe and secure environment. We take the safety and security of your child very seriously.

Children's Ministry Security Information

At Whitley Bay Baptist Church, every child is important to us! We want children to feel secure and safe as they join in our Children's Ministry activities. The church has adopted a "Child Protection Policy" which provides guidelines and safety procedures for children of all ages. In accordance with this policy, every adult that works with children has reference checks completed in accordance with the Baptist Union 'Safe to Grow' process and has to complete a criminal records check to ensure the safety of the children and young people while here at Whitley Bay Baptist Church.
